A visionary of the industry, Mr. Kirit G. Marfatia started GBM with the seed of an idea. His journey began back in 1965. After pursuing a B.Sc. in Physics, he took his first steps into the business of yarn manufacturing. In those times, the industry wasn’t organized. Despite this, he persisted and adopted a systemic methodology that allowed the organization to grow and flourish. By focusing on being quality-centric instead of cost-centric, he gave his business an extra edge. He even broke tradition, sought international partners, and worked with nature-based yarns from Japan. Such unique strategies made him stand apart from his competitors.
His hard work has evolved into the established company that GBM Fabrics is today. Under his guidance, knowledge, and aptitude, the company grew and developed phenomenally. The high standard of fabrics as well as the efficient functioning of the company is a testament to his efforts. He was always ahead of his time — in terms of technology, processes, or management. Today we attribute whatever goodwill we have gathered amongst our clients, partners, and traders to Mr. Kirit.
Mr. Aakash Marfatia has been associated with GBM Fabrics for 22 years as a Managing Partner. His area of forte includes research and development. Over the years, his extensive knowledge of textile science, production methodology, and marketing management have provided a new dimension to GBM. He is actively working on taking the company to new horizons, through horizontal and vertical integration. His approach is strongly rooted in sustainability and his aim is to inculcate this value in the DNA of the organization. His vision is to build a sustainable textile community platform.

In line with the fast changing field of fashion, he has come up with new and original ideas that keep GBM relevant in the industry. With his creative outlook, he has built on the strong foundations of GBM and given it a contemporary twist. Since the day he joined GBM, the company has witnessed a six-fold increase in growth.
